Reflective and Collaborative Engineering Practices
Technical innovation does not emerge solely from new technologies, but to a large extent from the way people collaborate. This research focus therefore addresses the human dimension of engineering and explores how development work can be designed in a reflective, collaborative, and learning-oriented manner.
We research and develop agile engineering practices that support the deliberate selection, adaptation, and further development of methods. Retrospectives serve as a central instrument for the systematic reflection of development processes. At the same time, we investigate new forms of collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence in the sense of Human–AI Co-Creation.
Another focus lies on gamification and simulation-based approaches that make complex engineering situations tangible and experiential. We use simulation games and playful elements both as research environments for analyzing learning, adaptation, and decision-making processes and as effective means for the transfer and scientific validation of engineering practices.
