Equipment

At the IMW, we have extensive testing facilities and well-equipped laboratories for drive technology elements, cable drives as well as simulation tools, measurement technology and analytics for investigating the stresses and damage to components from mechanical engineering applications. We use and develop modern methods and tools for model-based and virtual product development in our Simulation & Virtual Engineering Lab. Additive manufacturing technologies for process engineering and mechanical engineering applications are investigated in the Additive Manufacturing Lab. Issues relating to acoustics (low-noise design) and machine dynamics can be addressed in the Acoustic Lab. In the Biomechanics Lab, we test and optimize products with regard to ergonomics.
