Dr. phil. Apoorv Bhatt

Career

Apoorv Naresh Bhatt completed his PhD in Design Theory and Education from the Department of Design and Manufacturing at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from CHARUSAT University, Gujarat, India, and a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gujarat, India. Previously, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Desai Sethi School for Entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay, focusing on sustainability and entrepreneurship education.

During his PhD, Apoorv was involved in the Erasmus+ project, which aimed to enhance problem-based learning in South Asian universities. His research collaborations included work in functional modeling, product obsolescence, Game-based learning, and design creativity. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Research in Engineering Design.

Teaching

Apoorv is involved in the planning, coordination, and teaching of Interdisciplinary Engineering Project (IEP), Design for Industry 4.0 (Lab and Lecture), and Interdisciplinary Research Project (IRP) courses of Intelligent Manufacturing (Master) at IMW.
