IMW @ KT-Kolloquium 2025

We at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at Clausthal University of Technology are delighted to have participated in the 23rd Colloquium on Design Engineering (KT Colloquium) 2025 in Bayreuth with four scientific contributions!

Our research covered a broad spectrum of structural engineering—from new conceptual approaches to application-oriented results:

Research principles (future research approaches):

  • Emil Alkountar, Armin Lohrengel
    • Damping properties of CuAlMn shape memory alloy under varying strain, frequency, and geometry in a quick test
  • Khanh Toan Vo Dan, Armin Lohrengel
    • Fully continuous hot air/hot steam process for the production of wood fiber insulation materials

Research results (current results from ongoing projects):

  • Bristol Bryan Lontsi Nongni, Armin Lohrengel
    • Influence of modified rope properties on stress distribution in a drum wound with multiple layers of fiber rope
  • Merle Hanse, Armin Lohrengel
    • Gear optimization with genetic optimizer to increase the efficiency of gears with pressure combs

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the organizers of the KT Colloquium (@Uni Bayreuth) for the excellent organization and the inspiring scientific exchange with colleagues from numerous universities and research institutions.

A big thank you also goes to our dedicated team, who drive our research forward with passion, curiosity, and innovative spirit! 💪
