The Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMW) once again took part in this year's TUConnect fair to introduce high school students to studying at Clausthal University of Technology. In addition to the information fair, keynote speeches and many other activities, the students had the opportunity to get to know Clausthal University of Technology and the various institutes better.
The IMW started under the motto "What does a mechanical engineer actually do?" with an introduction by Theresa Ammersdörfer and a short lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Armin Lohrengel to introduce the institute, the mechanical engineering course and the job profile of an engineer. Markus Quanz then introduced the TU Create student workshop and gave the students a first insight into practical activities, for example with a 3D printer. Merle Hanse and Sören Krahl allowed the participants to carry out experiments on a bicycle model and thus gain their first practical experience in engineering.
If you are also interested in an internship or a taster day in the field of mechanical engineering and product development, please contact us directly at: office@imw.tu-clausthal.de - We look forward to hearing from you!
