As part of a student internship, the two students decided to carry out their internship at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at Clausthal University of Technology. They carried this out from 06.01.2025 to 17.01.2025.
They were able to experience central areas of product development at first hand. The internship began with an introduction to technical drawing. Here, the relevance and scope of a standardized product representation could be internalized. Afterwards, it was possible to switch from analog to digital product presentation and development. In the field of computer-aided design, 3D models of components were created using Siemens NX software. These were then validated in a virtual reality environment.
The area of research was also examined in detail. Here, 3D models of special tensile specimens were created, which were then produced using a non-planar 3D printing process. These could be compared with geometrically identical classically produced 3D print models. This was done by examining them in a tensile test. In addition, a digital strength analysis was carried out using the ANSYS simulation software.
We look forward to many more exciting questions from students and prospective students - so feel free to contact us directly!
