Simtec Systems GmbH visits the Institute of Mechanical Engineering

Bernd Kaufmann presents his company in the Intelligent Manufacturing seminar!

On 6 December 2023, the Managing Director of Simtec Systems GmbH from Braunschweig - Mr Bernd Kaufmann - was a guest at the IMW to give Master's students on the Intelligent Manufacturing course an insight into the development and fields of work of his company in the Intelligent Manufacturing seminar. The aim of the seminar in the Intelligent Manufacturing Master's programme is to provide students with knowledge on the topic of Industry 4.0 and to support them in designing (e.g. format rules) and delivering (e.g. rhetoric) presentations using the example of an engineering project.

Mr Kaufmann presented the exciting history of the company and its individual products and talked about the distributed development. As the English-language Intelligent Manufacturing degree programme at Clausthal University of Technology is predominantly attended by international students, ‘Development in an international context’ was particularly interesting for the audience. The students were also interested in the qualifications required for starting a career. Mr Kaufmann addressed the special and exciting conditions of small and medium-sized companies.

Simtec Systems GmbH, like the IMW, is part of the BMBF-funded (funding code: 02J19B149) and PTKA-supervised research project RePASE (Reflexive Process Development and Adaptation in Advanced Systems Engineering) and has been working successfully with the team at the Chair of Integrated Product Development for some time now.
